LIBRARY BUDGET VOTE 2017
Baldwinsville Public Library held its annual budget vote and trustee election on Thursday, April 27, 2017. The budget passed 136 yes votes to 9 no votes.
The proposed library budget for 2017-2018 is $1,580,800 with $1,440,800 to be raised by property taxes. The amount to be raised by taxes is under the NYS Tax Cap.
Robert Manning was re-elected to a five year term on the Board of Trustees. The Library Board of Trustees meets regularly once a month and is responsible for policy and general supervision of library finances.
Current Board members are Barbara Aitken, President; Robert Manning, Vice-President; Mary Lou Carpinella, Linda Clarkson, Susan Downey, Craig Maguire and Edward McManus.
BOARD OF TRUSTEES
The Baldwinsville Public Library is chartered to serve the residents of the Baldwinsville Central School District. The library is governed by a seven member board of trustees. Board meetings are held the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30pm in the library. The members of the board are residents of the Baldwinsville Central School District and are elected, on a rotating basis, for five year terms. The board determines library policies and budget.
